What's new in self hosted applications this week? Check it out in the Self Hosted Roundup #15! 👋
Welcome back for another self hosted roundup!
What's new in Self Hosted this week?
I have a few new projects this week but a couple of these are not really 'new' so to say but bare with me as the summer slog continues.
GoAccess for Nginx Proxy Manager
Are you using Nginx Proxy Manager as your reverse proxy? Have you ever wanted to see your traffic in a much more presentable way?
GoAccess for Nginx Proxy Manager lets you visualize all of the data from your Nginx Proxy manager logs. This includes traffic, status codes, status requests and much more.
All you have to do is point the Docker volume at your Nginx Proxy Manager logs and the app will do all the rest of the work. It's awesome. Just keep in mind it may use a fair amount of CPU resources.
So many people have been looking for a self hosted social media management tool with scheduling. It looks like one is finally in the works. But wait for it... a lot of features are pay walled. Dun dun dun...
A note from the developer:
I assure you that the FREE version will be a good project, not just a trivial tool and of course, I will constantly maintain it.
PRO version will not have a subscription model, that was not my intention, it will be a fixed price per license with updates for one year. After one year you can still use the software, and if someone wants to receive the latest updates, they will have to purchase a license for one additional year.
Mixpost - A free self-hosted marketing platform that will include basic functionalities like scheduling and some analytics data. I'm planning to support two social networks: Twitter and Facebook.
Thumba is A self hosted Thumbnail generator/finder which creates thumbnails based on folder names and google search results.
Check this out. This app lets you take clips of videos on your Plex server.
Clipplex - Have you ever, while watching something on your plex server, wanted to easily extract a clip out of a good movie or tv show you're watching to share it with your friend, family or the world? While this was always possible, the process can be complex for something "so simple".
Another self hosted access management app is in the works. I've heard some not-so-good "things" about it so don't take my word for it!
Casdoor - An Identity and Access Management (IAM) / Single-Sign-On (SSO) platform with web UI supporting OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML and CAS
Good reads without all the social bloat? Yep, you can now host your own alternative to keep track of your books!
JELU's main purpose is to track what you have read, what you are reading and what you want to read. It acts as a self hosted "personal Goodreads".
