Self Hosted Roundup #16

One of my favorite todo list and organization apps, Vikunja, just had a big update introducing a new beautiful dark theme! You can read all about the new update on the Vikunja blog here.

Kasm Workspaces announces a new update including GPU sharing, dark theme and more!

What's new in Self Hosted this week?

Things are starting to pick back up and more projects are being born. Here's what we have for you this week!

Midarr in its' current form, is a lightweight (albeit companion) media server to the likes of Radarr and Sonarr. It relies on the integration with these services to serve your MP4 format media untouched and unscathed.

While more fully fledged media server options already exist, Midarr simply compliments as a lightweight alternative.

Many people are asking... "why only support for MP4?"

There can be more than Notion and Miro. Affine is a next-gen knowledge base that brings planning, sorting and creating all together. Privacy first, open-source, customizable and ready to use.

There's no Docker image just yet.

ytdl-sub is a command-line tool that downloads media via yt-dlp and prepares it for your favorite media player (Kodi, Jellyfin, Plex, Emby, modern music players).

We recognize that everyone stores their media differently. Our approach for file and metadata formatting is to provide maximum flexibility while maintaining simplicity.

An open source, self-hosted implementation of the Tailscale control server. headscale aims to implement a self-hosted, open source alternative to the Tailscale control server. Headscale has a narrower scope and an instance of headscale implements a single Tailnet, which is typically what a single organization, or home/personal setup would use.

Pashword is a hashed password generator that does away with the need to remember passwords. Pashword generates a unique strong password for every single one of your accounts but these passwords aren't just random like the rest of the 91244 other password generators. They are personalized and constant.

Docker support coming soon. Till then, please follow the development instructions to run a local instance.
