Hi everyone! My name is Emmanuel, and I'm the developer behind Squirrel Servers Manager, a project that I'm really passionate about. I've got to thank Jeremy for giving me the opportunity to share my story with all of you, and I'm thrilled to introduce myself and this tool.

What is Squirrel Servers Manager?

Squirrel Servers Manager (SSM) is a self-hosted solution that simplifies server and container management through an intuitive interface. Think of it as a perfect blend of AWX and Portainer, but designed with a focus on user experience and accessibility for both developers and non-technical users.

SSM enables you to:

Manage your servers through Ansible
Control containers with Docker
Manage virtual machines and containers via Proxmox
Monitor system performance with Prometheus

Why Squirrel?

The Playful Reason

Just as squirrels gather nuts in their tree homes, SSM gathers and manages all your servers in one central place. Plus, who doesn't love squirrels? 🌰

The Real Story

SSM was born from a practical need: managing multiple homelab servers and their containers efficiently. When no free solution combined both server and container management with the simplicity I needed, SSM became the answer.

Metrics & Statistics: Monitor the main metrics of your servers (CPU, RAM, etc.) and detect anomalies
Configuration Management: Manage your playbooks, both locally and remotely, and run them on your devices
Container Management: View all running containers, monitor their statistics, and receive alerts when updates are available
Automations: Run actions on triggers like playbook execution or container actions
